So after randomly stumbling upon this subreddit, reading some of the wiki, and almost pissing myself reading Jugglemancy, My God, its full of butt, and the Crashwich, i decided to download BYOND and play SS13 for myself. I ended up joining a Goonsquad server called "Heisenbee", and figured out how to make my character. I made an hemophilia inflicted Chav woman named Sana Kurata, and by the time i joined the round in progress, the shuttle was already here. I soon got tossed off the shuttle, and died. But my real first round was about to begin.
So the round started, and I found myself as a Miner. I had no idea what the layout of the map was, or how to do anything the job I was given wanted me to do. In other words, I was absolutely unqualified. Thankfully, there was one person near me who knew what they were doing. I don't remember their name, but they showed me where the oxygen tanks are, taught me how to put it on, gave me a handheld mining tool, which i promptly put on a table and forgot about, summoned a minisub from seemingly nowhere, and we three miners ventured into the deep ocean to find the minerals we craved. From what I remember, we found exactly one hunk of viscerite, the guy who knew what to do almost drowned, and after a lengthy argument over who was driving the minisub (it was not me.), we somehow managed to make our way back to the base.
The base, however, was in pandemonium. The entire place was flooded, and where it wasn't flooded, it was covered in blood, oil, unidentifiable meats, and random nonsense, such as syringes and pills. Still clutching the spoils of my escapade, I ran around like a headless chicken trying to find where to put it in. That's when I got electrocuted. The zap flung me into this hellish array of what looked like antennae, and I kept getting zapped, and flung to the other antenna, in this painful ping pong game with me as the ball. I think the only reason I didn't die was because one of the shocks acted like a defibrillator, according to the buff tooltip. After a while, someone noticed me, grabbed me, and sprinted to the infirmary, screaming for a medic. I got handed to a cyborg, who through some miracle managed to nurse me back to health within seconds. After thanking it profusely, and listening to it talk about how not many people knew how to doctor, I realized I had lost my prize, and I would have to risk certain death to get it back, so I gave up, as while i was used to play electric volleyball, the shuttle was called.
Utterly confused, but healthy, I heard the miner who knew what they were doing call for a rescue, but as i didnt know what i was doing, or how to rescue them, i stayed silent, and hoped for the best. After running around for a bit, catching a glimpse of a spider, and watching a monkey beat another monkey to death with a pickaxe, the shuttle arrived. Trying to buckle myself in, I punched a spider who was trying to eat me, got punched myself a few times, but managed to make it to the destination, prompting the game to tell me I had escaped successfully! I was swiflty bleeding to death, however, and I died just before the round ended. At that point, I had to get ready for work, and left.
All in all, I had fun, and I plan to play the game more. Thanks for having me, and if you were that miner, the rescuer, or that cyborg who healed me, thank you especially, for allowing me to live just that little bit longer.
I was charge on my floor the other day…
We had(have) this patient who is completely oriented but an ass that’s thrown stuff at nurses and hit them in the pt hallway and almost hit some of our patients. This patient screams so loud and punches the walls that the other patients in the other rooms are terrified because all they hear is “I don’t care if I go to jail for this. I’m gonna act this way! I need to smoke!” The problem is we can’t let this person smoke and also the pt does not want to leave AMA cause the pt knows very well that it will likely end in death. We apparently have a “no harassment” policy at my hospital which my nurse manager and myself thought meant that we could force discharge this patient. The last time this person acted up our nurse manager said we had a no tolerance policy for this behavior and that their will be serious consequences for these actions. But when we called risk management that day said that it’s too much of a liability to kick out this patient because of the patient condition. So this patient just screams constantly for all to hear and is constantly threatening to attack us again. We now have a security officer at bedside at all times but it’s still disheartening. Has anyone experienced a situation like this but had the pt kicked out? If not, does a “no tolerance policy for harassment” even exist?
As the title says, what is the cheapest way to get started? Do you have to use vr headsets like the index or the rift or could you use a mobile to connect up? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
One shot, one kill!
I can’t for the life of my figure out the rule to this puzzle. I’ve activated the lasers for all the other sections besides the mansion. And even did the 20 puzzles below this one to find out they are bonus puzzles for the area, which didn’t help me understand the rule. Can I get a hint?i.redd.it
Would this even be feasible and if so what would I choose/scale like all 4 fire arrow skills, lightning arrow skills, or phys arrow skills?
I would love for this to be possible I just don't know what 4 skills to use tbh since they have to scale without support gems
I'm female 5'9" about 180 pounds and 27 years old. I've gained about 40 pounds the last 2 years and it's taking a tole on me mentally and physically. I have arthritis so I really need to get back to the 145 range. I've been on a calorie defecit for only 5 days and it's so hard!!!! I'm trying to stay around 1,500 calories. The highest I've gone is 1,790. So my range is between 1,500-1,800 calories. I can't do much working out because of my arthritis and the little amount I can do basically burns NO calories so right now working out isn't even an option really. Could I expect to see any type of results in 3 months? I get discouraged very easily so if I don't even see any type of results in the first month I'm scared ill fail this defecit. I don't have a scale and don't plan on using one because I know that with mess with my mental state lol so just wondering if I'd be able to see any weightloss as quick as 1-3 months. If so that would really help motivate me by knowing!!I've never tried to lose weight and never known anybody that has and talked to me about it so I have no clue what to expect on my weightloss journey. I have a bad relationship with food so mentally this is hard because it's my answer to all my problems and I do have a history of binge eating but takes a long time for me to gain weight. People in my life are being mean saying I'm skinny enough already but my doctors are telling me to loose my extra fat on my stomach and thighs because it's going to hurt me in the long run due to arthritis. All of this is so hard.
TIL that screen-readers don't register text-styling such as and without changes to their default set up (which I understand people rarely change).
Which gives me a problem. I'm working on a project to accessibly describe some video content, in order of the narrative.
So a sample goes like this:

The Pub

The pub has the word HOTEL painted on its corrugated iron dutch-gable roof to be visible from the train ... blah blah

The publican Charlie is a white man, mid 30s, with a cleft chin, small eyes and dark blonde hair ... blah blah

So I was using to call out that Charlie is a significant element -- a character -- who owns and exists in the pub. For a sighted user, that's obviously easy to pick out.
Obviously, if a screen reader is not going to change any emphasis or call out the I need an alternative.
The only thing I can think of would be to wrap the character description in a
with an aria label, but I was wondering if anyone could suggest anything less heavyweight? An ? but I'm unsure how a screen reader would parse it?
Thank you for any guidance.
