Lord of the Rings music is like remembering someone you loved dearly that died a while ago, but it still aches.

It's such a masterpiece. With few notes, the score manages to pull so many emotions out of your soul... Nostalgy, melancholy, sadness but also joy...

I always am like “damn why does this music make me so emotional?” And this perfectly explains why

Then died painfully when the Hobbit series came out. Then was mauled by dogs with Rings of power.
have a happy day!

Thank you! Was just about to ask who this was & how I can get a book like this!
2
u/dscrive Feb 05 '23
It looks like she sold that one for darn close to a thousand dollars, I can't afford that, but if I could, I wouldn't hesitate, I don't think it's an unreasonable price

But how are you going to place this book back when you are done?

u/Poem-Gremlin Feb 04 '23
Limerick
Though this drawing will be so grand I'm wondering how it's planned To slip back in place Without leaving a trace It's a puzzle that's hard to understand.

u/zwatxher Feb 04 '23
wouldn't that cause the pages to stick together
7
u/Fleinsuppe Feb 04 '23
The more water, the less stick. I don't think acrylic or oil would work because they stick, hence watercolour paint usage.

I don't judge a book by its cover, but I do judge if it doesn't have painted page edges.

This is amazing! What a wonderful talent you have! Do you do this professionally? This is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.

My sister is named after a character in Lord of the Rings, and it’s my favorite book and movie. We had a map of middle earth hanging in my living room growing up.
The artist is cute, sure, but I’m surprised I’m getting downvoted. Being attractive and also talented working on your favorite piece of art shouldn’t be a negative to anyone. But, Reddit is weird sometimes.

- Great artwork!
- Gorgeous girl!
- Why doesn’t the paint make the pages stick together?

This should be on r/lotr not this subreddit. This is why this subreddit I filled with random posts that don’t actually count as interesting.
2
u/notahouseflipper Feb 05 '23
I found it interesting.

Yeah but she probably also posted it on the lotr subreddit, so now we know she’s just trying to farm karma

I don’t think she painted that hands are different in the close up shots of painting …..?!?! Maybe she should paint topless to distract

I don't know how long that takes, but it seems like something for which people would pay a great deal. Could be a side hustle but I suspect it could be a career.

This is how all books should be printed. That brings such a beauty to them

u/Early-Product3739 Feb 04 '23
All books need to come standard like this.It makes the book more interesting and aesthetic.

u/Zharick_ Feb 04 '23
Last night I was looking for a copy of LOTR and The Hobbit but I couldn't find any books like this. All I could find had covers that were a bit gaudy. Where can I get a copy like that? (Sans the painting of course)

u/stormcrow-99 Feb 04 '23
That is gorgeous. Would love to have that done on a few books I own.

I thought the pages would stick together
2
u/Ill_Albatross5625 Feb 05 '23
the thickness of each page absorbs the paint on it...easy as that...no magic involved...pure physics

My partner loves the Harry Potter series, if you could find an early hardback printing in good shape and draw important scenes on it, I'd pay good money! (I'm poor though so maybe not GOOD good money 😅)

does anyone know who this artist is? Does she sell this kind of art? I am guessing its probably really expensive.
1
u/Ill_Albatross5625 Feb 04 '23
old Bookbinder's technique..many old vellums were done this way particularly The Holy Bible with gold only with a soft kid leather cover with gold lettering on the spine and a page marker..wonderful creations, old books.
