On Twitch you can buy subscriptions for other users at varying price tiers (tier 1 is ad free with a bunch of sub-only emotes, tier 2 and tier 3 are mostly just ways to give more money to the streamer). So someone bought Matt Gaetz’s twitch account a very expensive month’s subscription to Hasan’s stream as a joke.

Pretty sure it was just a staffer running the account, because they were in the chat saying “MAGA” but didn’t really interact.

To quote my favorite teacher from high school, talking about anything involving art or comedy - “if it’s good, steal it.”

325

u/DnDimwit Texas Sep 26 '22

I remember watching something on Milton Berle (he was a comedian/entertainer in the early-mid 20th century, who also was known to steal other people's jokes) when I was a kid; he was onstage and had microphone problems, and a stagehand came out to fix it. Berle asks the stagehand, "Is that thing live?" and the stagehand retorts, "Yeah! Are you?!" The crowd laughs and Berle chuckles and says, "I wish I'd thought of that." And from offstage the stagehand yells, "You will!"

164

u/DrKluge Wisconsin Sep 26 '22

Congratulations as a fan of old-time comedy history this is the first time I've ever seen someone talk about Milton Berle and not mention his giant dong.

68

Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to." Jim Jarmusch

As practical as this sounds, I really hope prosecutors are not counting on corruption of the jury. Just because we (the people) might not get the appropriate response of justice doesn’t absolve us of our duty to charge those who have committed crimes against us. We hope the other parties involved are not derelict in their duty, but even when we suspect that they are, we need to fulfill our own duty.

Might have something to do with her actually using Twitch for its intended purpose. Her first appearance was on hBomberGuy's stream, where he was fundraising for trans rights and also doing a ridiculous Donkey Kong 64 100%+ speedrun. (I forget what the actual number is, but the DK64 completion rate goes above 100%.)

Then, her own channel started with a game of Among Us with Ilhan Omar, and also a bunch of existing Twitch/YT personalities.

So... what did Gaetz do? Literally none of the articles mention what he was playing. Was he playing anything?

I mean, look, I like AOC, but I don't think I'd want to watch a livestream of just her rambling into a microphone. Just make a podcast, if that's all you're doing... but a livestream where she gets stabbed by Ilhan Omar sounds like a good time!

gaetz's venmo is under pretty close scrutiny right now, so he couldn't recruit his usual child labor.

He has six congressional aides?

Kind of surprising honestly. I would have thought he'd be bombarded with people shitting on him. Glad to hear he was just ignored.

Hilarious but im kind of shocked...I dont want this idiot to get publicity but I would have expected either a shit ton of trolls or a bunch of loyalists lining up

6 peak viewers is pathetic for someone like this

Sounds like he had bots.

u/Lulu6969 Sep 26 '22

At least 2 mods and 3 "affirmative action agents" to provoke the one guy who showed up into getting banned lol

40

u/Augnero Sep 26 '22

That sounds accurate!

I bet at least four of them showed up just to call him a pedo

Probably just five journalists trying to write an article like this and the one for him viewing himself.

He might stop the twitch if it starts to get into the high teens

16

u/phallicstone Sep 26 '22

Further proof that these conservative pundits actually have no real audience and are just held up by the strings of their corporate media sponsors. Fake AF.

49

u/ChickpeaDemon Sep 26 '22

The six were probably his staff.

u/Coffinspired Sep 26 '22

At least 2-3 of them were chatters from HasanAbi's community spamming cocks and calling him a sex trafficker in the chat.

Welcome to Twitch Matt lol.

When I asked if he was disappointing about the turn out he said, “It’s not the number of people that show up, it’s their age and inexperience that gets me excited.”

46

u/Xero_space Sep 26 '22

I see Gaetz is still interested in expanding his youth outreach program.

8

u/justanontherpeep Sep 26 '22

Data shows he’s in the teens

47

u/usernamesareclass Canada Sep 26 '22

Matt Gaetz actively targeting kids on a noted grooming platform.

I mean if the glove fits ...

11

u/derottbotee Sep 26 '22

All of them were minors kept in his basement

32

u/Palabrewtis North Carolina Sep 26 '22

The other political interested people not posting ASCII dicks in Gaetz's chat were busy watching relevant streamers clowning him. Getting Gaetz to reply to Hasanabi's "MattGaetz FBI pedo investigation" name change on Twitter was the chef's kiss. Truly capping off the clown show.
